Collins (Author), Isabelle Hunt Conant (Artist) (Author), Tom R. Johnson (Artist) (Author), Suzanne L. Collins (Photographer) (Author). This newly designed area guides options detailed descriptions of 595 species and subspecies. The 656 full-color illustrations and 384 drawings present key details for correct identification. More than a hundred shade photographs and 333 shade images and 333 shade distribution maps accompany the species descriptions.

This book was my bible as a boy. For anybody who enjoys watching small creatures in their natural habitats, the life-histories of amphibians and reptiles can be very enjoyable. This e-book is academic and intensely comprehensive. Even after moving to Europe, I stored my copy of this book, purely for sentimental value (none of the species from back home are to be discovered over here).

The guide is written for individuals who need lots of information, yet it’s accessible for anybody from a very inquisitive boy or lady, via to college college students who want to identify species within the wild. (I know, I used my copy from the age of ten to twenty-five on numerous field journeys and excursions.)

It is sturdy and inexpensive, particularly considering the amount of data it contains. There are a lot of b/w illustrations inside the text displaying specific identifying features, and a pleasant set of color and black and white plates. More helpful than Audubon, for those who like these peaceable little animals this e book can be with you for a protracted time.

Lovely colour pictures, reasonable paintings of each species illustrating diagnostic traits, and great accounts on every form, from two of the most revered herpetologists to ever live. The color maps are not so good as the original black and white versions, however shade photographs by the foremost authority on North American wildlife pictures, more than make up for this. The maps are still better than those used in any area guide masking the identical geographic area. Every kid ought to have at least one.
