National Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Birds: Eastern Region, Revised Edition by National Audubon Society (Editor). Launched in 1977 and completely revised in 1994, these bestselling photographic subject guides have developed into the birding bibles of greater than four million enthusiasts. Just about each chicken found in North America is dropped at life in a full-coloration photograph and with textual info on the bird’s voice, nesting habits, habitat, range, and interesting behaviors. Accompanying vary maps; overhead flight silhouettes; sections on hen-watching, unintentional species, and endangered birds make these essentially the most comprehensive subject guides to birds available.

Be aware: the Eastern Version usually covers states east of the Rocky Mountains, whereas the Western Edition covers the Rocky Mountain range and all the states to the west of it.

I carry several guides with me everytime I go to the field. This is a kind of my take (have because its publication). Whereas I don’t feel it is nearly as good as Peterson’s guides (or even those of Sibley for that matter), I do discover this work to be very helpful as a supplemental guide. It does have information not present in a couple of the opposite guides and at instances the actual photograph, somewhat than a drawing, assist identify. I can’t say that I might be snug with solely this as an information, however I’ve discovered it useful. The images are fairly good really, and a pleasure to examine. For fast identification though, after a short glimps of a given fowl, I really want a bit more. General advocate this one highly.

The images in this guide are incredibly gorgeous. There are over 600 photographs, all of them crisp, clear and shut up. The e book consists of information about the territories, nesting habits and even describes the sounds the birds make in detail. It is a wonderful e book not only to be loved by fowl watcher but additionally to be used by couch potatoes like me who do not get out much. But you are likely to be impressed to get out and look for birds after a mere look via this stunning field guide. Nicely value having.
