Data Analysis and Graphics Using R: An Example-Based Approach (Cambridge Series in Statistical and Probabilistic Mathematics)

Data Analysis and Graphics Using R: An Example-Based Approach (Cambridge Series in Statistical and Probabilistic Mathematics) by John Maindonald (Author), W. John Braun (Author). Uncover what you can do with R! Introducing the R system, protecting customary regression methods, then tackling extra superior topics, this book guides users through the practical, highly effective instruments that the R system provides. The emphasis is on palms-on evaluation, graphical display, and interpretation of data. The many worked examples, from real-world research, are accompanied by commentary on what is completed and why. The companion website has code and datasets, permitting readers to breed all analyses, together with options to chose workout routines and updates. Assuming primary statistical knowledge and a few expertise with knowledge evaluation (but not R), the e book is ideal for analysis scientists, closing-year undergraduate or graduate-level college students of utilized statistics, and working towards statisticians. It is both for learning and for reference. This third edition expands upon subjects corresponding to Bayesian inference for regression, errors in variables, generalized linear combined models, and random forests.

This is a good introductory guide to R, overlaying fundamentals of the language, statistical models, inference, regression (linear and logistic), experimental design, time series, classification, multivariate evaluation, etc.

The e book uses liberally examples and normally has the code for the output or graphics as footnotes on the backside of the page. The guide also tries to teach the statistics to a degree, which one can see as an annoyance (simply educate me R!) or helpful in case you are shaky on your stats. The book also lists a good variety of references to different books on S-plus and R to assist level you in the path in the direction of attaining the next degree of adeptness and different references to learn more in regards to the subjects covered in the book.

This e book may be very helpful for wrtiting R code. I suggest it to anyone who wants to be taught R or anybody going into statistics. Very good book for rookies and experienced users. Good presentation, laborious cowl, broad content an excellent book.
